Willits Senior Center offers a variety of outreach services to the community and its members.

Financial Assistance

Contact Financial Representative Sherry Bixler Monday thru Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm for financial assistance paying bills and rent, providing a monthly allowance and budget, and solving financial problems.

Housing Assistance

Outreach can assist with housing issues. Contact Dorothy Rodiger – Mondays 10:30 am-3:00pm at 707-459-6826.

General Assistance

Contact Outreach Worker Joanne Moore Monday and Friday, 10:00am-4:30pm at 707-459-6826. Joanne helps fill out applications for both CalFresh and the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). Joanne provides general assistance and connects seniors to a wide range of community resources.

Programs Administered by Volunteers:

• Free Firewood Program is for members only. This program begins in November and ends when we run out of wood. CalFire and community members cut, split, and stack firewood every year and volunteers hand out wood on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 11:00am.
• Free Medical Equipment Loan Program is administered by staff and volunteers Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. We have bedside commodes, toilet risers, shower chairs, shower benches, front-wheeled walkers, seated walkers, and wheel chairs. Howard Foundation supports this program financially every year. Donations are accepted but not required. We are currently asking for a refundable $20.00 deposit on wheel chairs.
